Ronald Gene Lyons, 69, of Minford, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.

Born February 27, 1944, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Vondon and Beatrice (McGraw) Lyons, he had retired from Western-Southern Life Insurance Company and was co-owner of Bakery Creations in New Boston.

 

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen (Pennington) Lyons, whom he married on December 23, 1962; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sharilyn and Jay Miller, Mary and Bo Elliott, Cynthia and Ken Mingus, Jennifer and Hector Reffit; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Tammy Lyons; 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Danny Blevins officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
