Rosemary June Murphy Miller, 85, of Wheelersburg, died Friday, October 14, 2011, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.

Born November 18, 1925, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Andrew “Jack” Jackson Murphy and Mary Eliza Peach Murphy, she was a former employee for Vulcan Shoe Company in Portsmouth. She was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church and a 1944 graduate of Minford High School.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Opal Allen Murphy of Portsmouth, Alberta “Birdie” Miller of Wheelersburg; a brother-in-law, Bill Miller of Wheelersburg; 7 nephews and nieces, Randel Murphy, Dwight Murphy, Patricia Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Mike Murphy, Ike Murphy, Diane Murphy Bown; 17 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Miller, a son of the late Sanford and Carrie Leesburg Miller, on December 10, 2001, whom she married on October 9, 1950, at Swauger Valley Free Will Baptist Church, by the Rev. Forrest Chamberlin; two brothers, Jackson Junior “Jack” Murphy on January 22, 2004, Ellsworth Lee Murphy on November 25, 1989; sister in law, Erma Adkins Murphy, on March 22, 2009, and her sister, Iva Louise Murphy on January 6, 1932.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Union Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating. Burial will be in South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
