Rosemary Seidel Newman died Feb. 7, 2014, in Aptos, CA, after an extended illness.

She was born June 2, 1931, in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Karl A. Seidel and Eva Snyder Seidel.

 

She was a graduate of Minford High School, class of 1949, and Ohio State University.

 

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Martha Jane Morrison and an infant sister Patty.

 

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Donald Newman; son, David (Wadia) Newman of Louisville, KY; daughter, Kathleen Vinson of California; and granddaughters, Theresa Vinson and Celeste Newman.

 

Surviving siblings are Betty Figlestahler of Minford, John Seidel of Montgomery, AL, Rita (Jim) Brennan of Hillsboro, KS, David (Phyllis) Seidel of Minford, Ruth (John) Sloan of Monassas, VA, Jim (Phyllis) Seidel of Buckeye, AZ, Susan (Roy) Sigritz of Dayton; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Services were held March 1st in California.
