In failing health for the last six years, Samuel Rogers Cole, 54, died at 3:40 a.m. today at the residence near Minford.

 

Born August 28, 1898 in Harrison Township, Mr. Cole was a son of the late Melvin and Anna Smith Cole.

 

He was employed as a machinist in Dayton for a number of years.

 

Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Wildah Gilliland; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Smith of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Barbara Jean at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Campbell and Mrs. Ora Kronk, both of Sciotoville, Route 2.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harrison FreeWill Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Milam officiating.  Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery under the direction of Erwin Funeral Home.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home until 11 a.m. Friday, at which time the body will be moved to the residence.
