Shannon Kay Potters Cunningham
December 31, 1947 - April 15, 2023 

URBANA-Shannon Cunningham 75 of Urbana, passed away, Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Villa Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care.

She was born December 31, 1947 in Sciotoville, Ohio the daughter of the late Eugene and Iva Jane (Wyant) Potters. Shannon was a graduate of Minford High School in Minford, Ohio, and was a member of Mechanicsburg Baptist Church.

Before her health declined, Shannon loved working in her flower beds and gardening. She was an independent, get it done kind of woman. She loved country music, cross stitching, and working word puzzles. Her Christmas cookies were famous around town and family and friends looked forward to them every year.

After losing her son, Shannon focused on raising her daughter to be a strong young lady. Making her home a warm place to gather for all her daughters' friends. Shannon's true love in life was being a grandmother to her twin grandchildren. We know she will be watching over us from above and she will truly be missed.

Shannon is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Jaymes) Hoewischer; grandchildren, Jayson and Kylie Hoewischer; brothers, James (Brenda) Potters, Chris (Peggy) Potters, and Ben Potters; a sister, Carol Nolan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shannon is preceded in death by a son, Timothy L. Cunningham, and a sister, Tammy Jarvis.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, April 20th, 2023 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 21st, 2023 in the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Purdy officiating.

Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, Ohio.
