Thelma Sparks, 84, a former Minford area resident, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at a Piketon nursing center.

She was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Martin L. and Stella Cecil Lyons Blakeman She was preceded in death by her husband, Ova J. Sparks.

She is survived by sons, Larry Sparks, Donald Sparks and Vonden Sparks; sister, Lorain McRoberts; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Bud Mefford officiating and interment in Harrison Furnace Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
