Vernon Glenn Coriell, 82, of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Best Care Nursing & Rehab Center in Wheelersburg.
Born December 29, 1929 in Scioto County, a son of the late David Lindsey and Ruby Barrett Coriell, he was a farmer and attended Sunshine Church of Christ, Grant & Summit Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betsy Askin Coriell; four sons, Gavin (Karen) Coriell of Lebanon, TN, Jonathan (Tamela) Coriell of Portsmouth, Michael (Joan) Coriell of Portsmouth, David (Marsha) Coriell of Portsmouth; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Coriell, Andrew Coriell, Louanne Coriell, Gabriel (Mandy) Coriell, Heather (Shawn) Gragg, Zachary (Jesse) Coriell, Greg Coriell, Tim Coriell, Jonath Michael Coriell, David Coriell, II, Kaylynn Coriell; three step grandchildren, Colin (Chase) Floyd, Annmarie (Michael) Joyce, Evan Floyd; nine great grandchildren, Maryn Maloon, Jack Maloon, Levi Coriell, Madison Coriell, Mackenzie Coriell, Maria Gragg, Julia Gragg, Ben Gragg, Alexa Coriell; one step great granddaughter, Ashley Marie Joyce, and one sister, Estelle Coriell of Portsmouth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children in infancy, Vernon and LouAnn Coriell; four sisters, Ada Brofft, Fern Thompson, Lulla Coriell, Wilma Coriell in infancy, and seven brothers, Loren Coriell, David Coriell, George Coriell, Austin Coriell, Emmitt Coriell and Dale and Roy Coriell in infancy.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Coriell Family Cemetery on Coriell Road with Pat Gampp officiating. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
