Victor D. Knore, 91, a former Minford area resident, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Paris, Kentucky.Born November 21, 1922 in Scioto County, a son of the late Frank and Stella Mae (Schomburg) Knore, a lifetime farmer in Scioto County, he worked 10 years as a Chemical Operator at the Goodyear Atomic Energy Plant in Piketon, Ohio, and retired from Millwright Local 1519 in Ironton Ohio after 33 years of employment.
He was a member of Sunshine Church of Christ, a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1940, and was a 4-H advisor for many years. He was a 32 degree Mason with The Valley of Columbus Scottish Rites, and member and Past Master in 1950 for the Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene (Sexton) Knore; two sons and daughters–in-law, Dennis and Kathy Knore of Mobile, Alabama, Don and Lisa Knore of Paris, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Ally Knore, Cole Knore (Don & Lisa), and Zachary Knore (Dennis & Kathy); and 31 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Knore in 1960; three brothers, Calvin W. Knore, Woodrow "Pete" Knore, Frank Harmon Knore; three sisters, Golden Hale, Stella Mae Knore and Garnet Shelton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Sunshine Church of Christ with Steve Miller, Minister and Jamie Riley, Minister officiating.
Burial will be in Batterson Cemetery. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Sunshine Church of Christ.
A masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday by the Lucasville Lodge.
