William Roger Adams

 William Roger Adams, 63, 216 Shenandoah Drive, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center of Leukemia.

Mr. Adams was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio, and had lived in Tiffin, Ohio.  He was a son of the late William Robert and Margaret Batterson Adams.

He was a graduate of Minford High School and Ohio University, Athens, were he received a bachelor's degree.  He attended the College of Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati, for a year and a half.

Mr. Adams was a former employee of radio station WXNT, Portsmouth.

He was the former owner and operator of Bill Adams Photography, Portsmouth.

Mr. Adams was the founder and manager of The Minford Pharmacy.

He was the co-founder of the Minford Gateway Supermarket.

Mr. Adams was a former employee of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where he was a member of the photographic staff.

He was formerly employed by Braun Industries of Oakwood, Defiance, Ohio, where he was director of creative services.

Mr. Adams was formerly employed as coordinator of corporate advertising by Motor Mart, Ltd, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia.

He was a former employee of Milligan College where he was director of public relations.

Mr. Adams was a former member of Sciotoville Christian Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, financial secretary, deacon and chairman of the board of elders and deacons.  he was a former member of Stahlhaber Road Christian Church, Hamilton, Ohio, the Christian Church of Kenton, Ohio, First Church of Christ, Defiance, and First Christian Church, Johnson City.  He was a member of Central Church of Christ, Johnson City.

Mr. Adams was a member of the Ohio Professional Photographers Association, the American Association of Professional Photographers and the American Radio Relay League.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Burness Kay Cole Allard Adams, three sons:  William Ronald Adams, Richmond, VA, Tedd Adams, Tulsa, OK and Todd Adams, Nashville; one daughter, Erika Marie Cruz, Jonesborough; two stepsons, Mark Allard and Timothy Allard, both of South Webster, Ohio; three step-daughters:  Cheryl McClintoc, South Webster, Rebecca Jacobs, Waverly, Ohio and Jennifer Scott, Plymouth, Nova Scotia; and 16 grandchildren.
