Wilma June Kent Bouts, 83, of Social Circle, Ga., a former South Webster, Ohio, resident, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2013 after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Minford, Ohio, to the late Ina Hazel Kirk Kent and Lloyd Earl Kent.

 

She was a 1948 graduate of Minford High School. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Denver Kent; as well as her husband of 53 years, Herbert Glenn Bouts; and two infant sons, Dennis Bouts and Brian Bouts.

 

In addition to being a homemaker, Wilma was employed with Williams Shoe Factory and Allen's Auction, and she retired from the Portsmouth Public Library Systems Wheelersburg Branch.  She has been an active member in Grange, 4-H and Bloom Freewill Baptist Church.  Hobbies included caring for children, gardening, and canning.

 

Wilma is survived by son, Daryl Bouts (Martha Bouts) of Social Circle, Ga.; daughter, Davida Grindle (Jody) of Mt. Airy, Ga; four grandchildren, Kent Bouts, Scott Bouts of Grovetown, Ga., Kayla Spence (Jimmi), and Kristan Hall of Wheelersburg, Ohio; one sister, Mary Shockey of Augusta, Ga.; six great-grandchildren of Wheelersburg, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Bloom Freewill Baptist Church in Scioto Furnace, OH.
