Wayne Brumfield, 66, of Minford, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his residence.

Born Sept. 1, 1947, in Scioto County; a son of the late Azle and Anna Parker Brumfield, he was a 1965 graduate of Minford High School and attended Ohio University.

 

He was retired from GTE (Verizon) and attended Minford Bible Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Viola (Fyffe) Brumfield; children, Julie Brumfield (Chris) Downey, Randy Lewis and Jeff (Wendy) Lewis; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; his "babies" Molly and Gavin Downey, and two sisters, Wanda Carpenter and Berdie Maynard.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Brumfield and Arzie Brumfield and two sisters, Maxine Viars and Janilee Carver. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Brett McGraw officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
