Alma Hayes, 88

Alma Jane (Weeks) Coriell Hayes, 88, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at SOMC Hospice. Born March 24, 1925, in Minford, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Mary Shumway Weeks, she retired from Goodyear Atomic Corp. after 30 years of service and was a member of Sunshine Church of Christ.

She is survived by four step-children, Barry (Karen) Hayes of Columbus, Charles “Chuck” Hayes of Waverly, Gale Hayes of Columbus, Jennifer Ann (Mark) Harris of Portsmouth and three step-grandchildren, Corey Hayes, Cameron Hayes and Rylan Hayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles H. Coriell; her second husband, Major Hayes, and one brother, Raymond Weeks.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Steve Miller, Minister officiating. Burial will be at Batterson Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday
