Minford Player Wins Trophy on Air Force Team

Airman 1C Paul Eckhart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Eckhart of Minford, continues the basketball play that gained him fame at Minford High School, where he was an outstanding athlete until his graduation in 1949.
Following the Air Force Tournament at Cheyenne, Wyoming, in which 12 teams participated, Eckhart was awarded the most valuable player trophy.
Playing with the Ent Air Force Base team of Colorado Springs, the young man from Minford averaged 26 points per game while playing a 36-game season.
Included on the schedule were the famous Harlem Globetrotters and five college teams including Colorado College and Denver University.
