Dear Parents/Guardians:
We are excited to announce the first week of October is Fire Safety week and we will be having several activities to promote fire safety with our students.
Students are invited to take part in a fire safety poster contest. Students may create a poster, following the parameters on the back of this page, and take part in a grade level poster competition. Poster winners will be announced at our Fire Safety Assembly, sponsored by the Minford Fire Department.
We ask that all families take time to discuss fire safety and review the following topics with your children:
1. Do not play with matches or lighters.
2. Do not leave candles burning at night or when away from home.
3. Check smoke alarms every 6 months.
4. Know the rule, “stop, drop and roll.”
5. Review your fire escape plan and choose a meeting place.
